Hotspot People respects the privacy of our customers, candidates, and employees and we acknowledge that you have certain rights related to any personal information we collect from you. The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 regulates the way private sector organisations (including contract and recruitment agencies) can collect, use, keep secure and disclose personal information.
Why we collect personal information
We primarily collect personal information for the following:
- Permanent or Part-time Recruitments – to assist you in finding a suitable positions
- Client and business relationship management – to ensure we are familiar with and fully understand your needs
- Marketing – to inform you of events, services and possible job opportunities by mail/email/sms/phone
- Development – for research, development and other business purposes to assist us in providing our services to you
How we use the information provided to us
Protecting personal information is important to us, and is always maintained in the strictest confidence. Hotspot collects information to:
- Assist candidates find employment
- Contact candidates
- Provide a resume to clients
- Answer candidate queries
- Conduct reference checks
Without this information, we may not be able to process or accept a candidates registration or assist them in finding suitable employment.
Privacy on our Website
In general, we gather information about all our website users collectively, such as what areas users visit more frequently and what services users access the most. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. This information helps us determine what is most beneficial for our users, and how we can continually create a better overall website experience for you. Hotspot also uses Google Analytics to collect information about how you use our websites. The information collected is used to improve how our websites work or the effectiveness of our web services to you. Information collected include (but not limited to) your login details, to track web traffic on an aggregate basis and to keep session information in cache to assist your use of our website, such as your last search (however, this information is disposed of every time you close your web browser). You may wish to opt out by turning off cookies (please refer to the help menu on your browser) however, switching off cookies will restrict your use of our websites.
How do we keep personal information accurate and up to date?
Hotspot endeavours to ensure that the personal information it holds is accurate and up to date. We realise that information changes frequently with changes of address and other personal circumstances. If you have created a profile with Hotspot via our website, you are able to update or delete your personal information yourself. To do so, simply click on apply for a position of interest, log into your profile, and you will find options for editing or deleting the information you have submitted. You may also request that Hotspot stops using your information and contacting you and we will duly comply with your request. However, if this involves a request for deletion of your file, please be aware that we may not be required or able to do so, particularly where your file also holds information about our clients.
Hotspot takes reasonable steps to keep personal information secure, accurate and up to date. The Internet is not always a secure method of transmitting information. Accordingly, while we seek to protect your personal information by implementing digital security systems in various parts of our website, Hotspot cannot accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the Internet or for any unauthorised access or use of that information.
